AMPLIFIED 2015 | Luke 8:13 "Those on the rocky soil are the people who, when they hear, receive and welcome the word with joy; but these have no firmly grounded root. They believe for a while, and in time of trial and temptation they fall away [from Me and abandon their faith]. |
Bible Question:
#1. How are we saved? By faith. #2 How are we kept saved? By Faith. We do good works and obey God because he has saved us it is a free gift. Righteousness (Right standing with God) is by faith, not works! Romans 4:1 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? 2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. 6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, 7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. Sir, now if I am a born again son of God and I am, I have the fruits and faith to prove it, and I get drunk, lie to the IRS, have sex with my daughter, commit adultery with my neighbor, and kill her husband and then finally commit suicide. Most religious leaders of the day would say I am lost! The bible says because of my faith I am righteous! Praise God I do not desire to go through the chastisement my Father would put me through for committing these sins, clearly they would not be without consequence. AM I A RIGHIOUS MAN? IF IT IS BY FAITH I AM, IF IT IS BY WORKS I AM NOT! David, Samson, Lot, Abraham, and Moses all did these things and God considered them Righteous (In Right standing with God) Because of their faith in him! Romans 4 and Heb 11! 2Pe 2:7 And delivered JUST LOT, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: So now exactly what sin is it that is going to send a born again Son to eternal condemnation in hell? We all have committed these sins. We do not have to commit them physically all we have to do is think it and we have committed adultery, hate someone and it is murder. IT IS ONLY BY THE GRACE OF GOD MY FRIEND BY FAITH! One last question: WHAT MADE LOT A RIGHTIOUS MAN? With Love I rest securely in Jesus’ salvation, Tim |
Bible Answer: sorry I have not been able to respond to you, since I have had such a difficult time trying to keep up with all the mail and questions I have received on this topic. You asked me "So now exactly what sin is it that is going to send a born again Son to eternal condemnation in hell?" This is a popular question those who cling to the teaching of "once saved, always saved" love to ask those of us who find Bibical support to believe that teaching is not Bibical as is taught by many today. It's not a matter of what (single sin) will send a born again son to hell. It is rather a repeated offense or offenses against a Holy God which the Bible calls willful sin (Heb. 10:26) It is actually a process of drifting away from the faith which happens gradually over a long period of time. Don't ask me how long, I can't answer that. It very well is an individual thing. Nevertheless from Scripture I believe that the teaching of "once saved, always saved" must be an invention of man. Consider from God's word Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. (Heb. 10:38) For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. (Heb. 6:4-6 NASB) If a man abide not me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. (John 15:6) In His service New Creature |
