Bible Note: Andrew, my first strong suggestion to you is that you stay away from such web sites as exchristian.org. Let them flounder in their "intellectual impasse" if that's what they choose, but that's no place for a man who is struggling to bolster his faith. Seek out godly men and women whose faith is sure and steadfast and stay clear of the doubters and scoffers. Read a book such as Josh McDowell's The New Evidence That Demands a Verdict. Attend an evangelical church that believes and teaches the word of God. Lay your problems before a seasoned pastor or Christian friends who are rooted and grounded in their faith. Most of all, lay your burdens on the Lord and pray that He will open your heart and mind to His eternal truth. Forget about the ambiguities in Scripture. They don't exist. The ambiguities exist in the minds of the readers who read Scripture, not in the mind of the God who wrote it! John Reformed cited some powerful passages from Scripture. You would do well, my friend, to think upon them and keep on thinking upon them till the day you die. God be with you. --Hank |
