Subject: One example of loosing salvation NT |
Bible Note: This is for everyone. Please pray for me! As some of you know from responding to my question a couple days ago, I am going through a period of intense doubt in my faith. For those of you who have never experienced doubt, let me tell you it's the scariest thing I've ever gone through in my whole life! I feel like I'm inching slowly toward a cliff of unbelief and once I go over the edge there's no return. It feels like the foundation of Christ that I've stood on most of my life is crumbling beneath my feet. I have been praying and reading my bible a lot lately hoping that it would reveal truth and put me at ease. The oposite is actually occuring. It is actually fueling my doubt because of all the ambiguity in the bible that can be interpreted in many different ways. I believe that there is absolute truth. Therefore one side of this salvation debate is right and the other is wrong (or both are wrong, but I won't go there yet.) If there is a God (which I never even questioned until 2 weeks ago), then he has given Christians the Holy Spirit to reveal truth in his word. How is it then that there can be disagreement on such a crutial issue? Wouldn't God reveal the truth to his people if his word is true? He also wouldn't let his people slip through the cracks, right? Well if you go to exchristian.org, you can read first hand stories about sincere Christians losing their faith by coming to an intelectual impass. I hope you all can give some Godly insight to help me out in this horrible time for me. Andrew |
