1 | One example of loosing salvation NT | Luke 8:13 | yampa78 | 88915
This is for everyone. Please pray for me! As some of you know from responding to my question a couple days ago, I am going through a period of intense doubt in my faith. For those of you who have never experienced doubt, let me tell you it's the scariest thing I've ever gone through in my whole life! I feel like I'm inching slowly toward a cliff of unbelief and once I go over the edge there's no return. It feels like the foundation of Christ that I've stood on most of my life is crumbling beneath my feet. I have been praying and reading my bible a lot lately hoping that it would reveal truth and put me at ease. The oposite is actually occuring. It is actually fueling my doubt because of all the ambiguity in the bible that can be interpreted in many different ways. I believe that there is absolute truth. Therefore one side of this salvation debate is right and the other is wrong (or both are wrong, but I won't go there yet.) If there is a God (which I never even questioned until 2 weeks ago), then he has given Christians the Holy Spirit to reveal truth in his word. How is it then that there can be disagreement on such a crutial issue? Wouldn't God reveal the truth to his people if his word is true? He also wouldn't let his people slip through the cracks, right? Well if you go to exchristian.org, you can read first hand stories about sincere Christians losing their faith by coming to an intelectual impass. I hope you all can give some Godly insight to help me out in this horrible time for me. Andrew |

2 | One example of loosing salvation NT | Luke 8:13 | John Reformed | 88928
Dear Andrew, Since when does the truth of God depend upon the agreement of men? The Word of God stands on it's own. Men are imperfect creatures, so, whatever you do, don't look to us for the confirmation of your faith! In the end, each and every person will be singled out as being a sheep or a goat. If you follow the wisdom of the world you are on the path that leads to eternal damnation. It is a very broad path with many turns and there is room for all kinds of gods. The path that leads to heaven is straight and it does not permit the traveller to create God in his image. Remember this my friend, when you stand before for God Himself, no excuses for not believing will be acceptable to Him. I suggest you flee from your unbelieving companions at wehategod.com (or whatever they call it) repent of your egoism and pride and plead for forgiveness. We all experience doubt Andrew. What matters is how we deal with doubt. Prov 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. 1Cr 3:18,19 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. If you think your unbelieving "friends" desrve an explanation, tell them that you have decided to be a fool for Christ. I pray that the Lord will be mercifull to you and open your eyes to see and your ears to hear. John |

3 | One example of loosing salvation NT | Luke 8:13 | New Creature | 89288
John As I was reading your reply to Andrew the following statement you made jumped off the page. "Remember this my friend, when you stand before for God Himself, no excuses for not believing will be acceptable to Him." How about the excuse - I was never chosen to be one of the elect? According to the theological stance of some denominations, could this not be a legitimate excuse, for those who accept the teaching that God chose to only save a limited number of those whom He created.
