Bible Note: Joe, I do not believe I made mention of your motives. The effect, however, is questionable. That your methods are justified by the example of Paul and the Lord Jesus is an hardly justifiable in light of the overwhelming balance of scripture that portrays patience, meekness, gentleness and peace. As for emulating the Old Testament prophets, I should say that it takes more than rudeness to become like them. It is good to hear that you are not frustrated. Your self-assurance in this matter of the doctrine of election is commendable. Please note that only a hairsbreadth separates self-assurance from self-righteousness. I am not as convinced as you are that you hold the absolute knowledge of right and wrong. I do, however, see that you are very zealous, and well versed in your dogma and the Bible. Thank you for your participation in this Study Bible Forum. Praise the Lord! |
