Subject: Not my will? |
Bible Note: Hi Tim, God does not compel us to be saved, but by His grace He opens our eyes and ears to the truth of the gospel. This "faith" we suddenly experience is a gift from Him to those He has chosen. To say otherwise is to add a work of man to salvation. Namely: an act of the will of man to believe. Now Tim, is faith something that we have retained as children of Adam or is it a gift from God given to us by grace alone? If you say that we retain a shred of spiritual life before regeneneration, then why is it written that we are dead in trespasses and sins? As long as you have a spark of life you are considered to be alive. John |
