Bible Question (short): What took you so long? |
Question (full): What took you so long? Finally, the discussion between the disciples of Calvin and the disciples of Arminus erupts into the familiar lines of bigotry. Calvinists have well proved the utter depravity of man, and the doctrine of exclusion, excuse me, election. A single avowed Arminist has allowed free will to run amok. But the valiant defenders of their faith held their ground and gouged an eye for an eye. Now, even so, the revelation to that famous heretic, Martin Luther, is given to us, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." (Ephesians 2:8) It is good to know that this verse applies even to extremists and self-righteous saints. "Let not then your good be evil spoken of." (Romans 14:16) Have you all been sleeping well? Praise the Lord! |
