1 | Not my will? | Rom 5:6 | Reformer Joe | 5759
No. The "bus" is not predestined. The Bible does not say that a way to salvation is predestined or elected or chosen. The Bible clearly says that it is individual HUMAN BEINGS who are predestined! Don't take my word alone for it, however. See John 6:35-65, Romans 8:29, and Ephesians 1 to see if I am right (among a great number of other passages in Scripture which clearly show God choosing those whom He will save from our earned destruction). --Joe! |

2 | Not my will? | Rom 5:6 | melchizedekau | 6460
you tell me, why was your name written in the Book of life before the foundation of the World? all names were.God wants none to perish. We choose our destiny in many ways. But we are predestined to be conformed to His image, only if we surrender. The parable of the workers in the field, the last worker got paid the same as the ones that worked all day. That is the same when we give our hearts to the Lord at our death . Mans Predestination therory works like this, fate ,what ever happens is fate no matter what you do or say you will end up at your fate .Gods predestination Fact works like this ,Before you were born i saw you in your womb. i know and have walked with you through your whole life .I know all the decisions you have made the Good ones and the bad ones, but all i see when i look at you is my beloved son Jesus. The blood that He shed for your salvation. You have been Predestined to live with me for eternity as the Bride of my Son which makes you and my Son one. It is your choice, i have chosen the path for you, although you some times seem afar off. Your decisions for me and your choice to change ,will bring you to my arms. In which i have predestined you to be. SAYS THE LORD. AMEN! YIC.we are all predestined if we accept Jesus as Lord .only God knows who they really are.
3 | Not my will? | Rom 5:6 | Reformer Joe | 6465
Where is your scriptural support for saying that ALL names were written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world? Divine election is not "fate." That is quite insulting to a holy God who acted purposefully "according to the kind intention of his will" and "after the the counsel of His will." (Ephesians 1:4,9,11). It is not some "dice roll," and without the regeneration of the Holy Spirit the only things we will say or do will be in rejection and rebellion against God. Therefore, the biblical view is not that some WANT to be saved and God refuses them; rather, no one wants to be saved until God changes the hearts of the elect. It is at that point that they choose Christ (Romans 3:10-18; 5:10; 8:7-8) "Predestination fact," as you call it (most actually call this the prescient view) does not jibe with Romans 9:15-24. If I am mistaken, please do an exegesis of that passage and clearly show me where I am mistaken in saying that our predestination is not based on our choices, but solely on God's divine choice and his mercy toward SOME. One thing I will agree with is that only God knows who the elect are who have not trusted Christ yet. Therefore, God's divine election of individuals has not been revealed to us. Again, it not a PATH that is predestined, but rather individuals. The object of verbs like "chose" and "predestined" are Christians, not the gospel nor any plan of salvation. Thanks! --Joe! |

Joe look at Rev 17:8 and Psalms 9:5 do a word study on book .Joe God is so simple and easy ,dont complicate Him .If you choose to to be chosen, then you are Gods predistined son.God brings us to that place of choice then it is up to us.He said come to Me all that are heavy ladened and I will give you rest.Remember the letter kills and the Spirit gives life. Our God is love, seek out that which Gives life, speak those things.Choose your words carefully as to block out negitivity James 3:2.YIC.
5 | Not my will? | Rom 5:6 | Reformer Joe | 6531
With all due respect, you didn't respond to the content of my post at all. Please re-read and address what I wrote. Simply repeating an unsupported assumption regarding election does not make you any more or less right than you were the first time. By the way, I did look at the two verses, and they do nothing to support your original contentions. God is anything but "simple and easy." From the human side of things, our salvation is easy, but it cost Christ a great deal. Furthermore, since God does all the work in regenerating us and causing us to desire to place our faith in Christ, it again is easy for us. Our holy God, however, is anything but simple; and the committed Christian life is one of external difficulty and trials (ask Paul). Our eternal rest comes later. Lastly, one cannot pick and choose from Scripture the attributes of God that we are most comfortable with (well, I suppose we can, but it will not be the real God we will be worshipping). God is loving, but God is also completely holy. Check out Revelation 1 for John's first-hand experience of the utter holiness of Christ. He is also completely just, and will not compromise His justice for the sake of love. He is also a God of wrath toward sin. The God who sent Christ to die for my sins is the same one who destroyed all humanity with the exception of Noah's family. He is the God who will let many spend all eternity in Hell to justly pay the penalty for their sins against Him. Simple? I don't think God is the simple One here. --Joe! |

What is His yoke? How about Love and obedience.Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. What is the Kingdom of God? is it not righteousnes peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit? do i talk in riddles ? if you were wise you would understand.YIC
7 | Not my will? | Rom 5:6 | Reformer Joe | 6737
I understand, Mel. I just can't imagine why you think that obedience is such an easy thing, living in a world system which hates Christ and all who follow Him. Try reading 1 Peter to get an idea of living with trials in true obedience. Or Philippians. Yes, obedience is carried out by cooperation with the Holy Spirit, but from one vantage point it is terribly challenging. By the way, you still haven't addressed my original post. --Joe! |

8 | Not my will? | Rom 5:6 | Hank | 6741
Joe, I don't understand what your correspondent says you would understand if you were wise. Perhaps it's because I'm not wise. By the way, where is this discourse headed and what's the point? --Hank
9 | Not my will? | Rom 5:6 | Reformer Joe | 6767
That question in itself demonstrates that you possess wisdom, Hank! :)
