Bible Question:
Dear JMSCOTT, Greetings in the name of Jesus! Friend, I am a bit confused about your post. I have read the proferred Scriptures, and don't understand your point. You wrote: 'If you read the whole chapter of Acts 11....peter had a vision(trance)...he baptized with water at first....then he remememberd(holy spirit)and baptized with the name of the fatherand son and holy spirit....which all have names!' (end quote) Baptized WITH the name...? I thought that we are baptized IN the name. Then you said that 1 Corinthians releases us from the Law (of water), but then go back in time to a 'new one' in Matthew 28. Would you please explain what you mean? In Christ Jesus, charis |
Bible Answer: sure.let's start with...jesus own words....Read Matthew 5:17-18. he said fulfil.Read that word in a dictionary. means to end!or finish it.Remember jesus on the cross said with his last breath it is finished!what was finished?...well how about cardinal ordinances!..jesus said again he to fulfil not institute these things. When jesus came to be baptized by john at first refused, but jesus said let it be just this time(once)to fulfil the law and prophets. Now here is the answer..."after"jesus death....the baptism is now with holy spirit in the name of the father and son!Read Matthew 28:19-20...John 19:30...it is finished....Now read John 5:39...the "whole" scriptures talk about jesus....Now read Galatians 3:24-25 |
