Subject: Multi-(G)god Universe? |
Bible Note: Mabuhay, Johnny, No, I'm not offended. I simply think that you are much more worried about the one word 'equal' than I am. The Father is God, Jesus is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. They are one. This is what is known as the mystery of the Tri-une God, or Trinity. That They are one means that the three Persons are equally God, but not the exact same (your word, equal). I do see your point, but it kind of petty, and gets you off-track. I know that the Father is not Jesus is not the Holy Spirit. This is what the Oneness people try to say. But you get into a confused rut if you try to 'solve' the mystery by saying that there are three Gods (or two Gods plus a Holy Spirit, as you have been saying). In my humble opinion, it is an unnecessary 'over-swing' of the pendulum of common sense to make such statements. However, you are free to express your opinions. Please just make sure that you call them opinions, not fact. A great deal of the 'facts' will not be revealed until our Lord returns to 'fill in the blanks' and throw His holy light upon those mysteries. By the way, when I was last there, the Philippines had three official languages, English, Tagalog, and Spanish. Did that change? :-) (I know that Spanish-speakers are dwindling) Blessings to you in Christ Jesus, charis |
