AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, "Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. |

Bible Note: Greetings Johnny! A quick question and then a response to your challenge. 1) Question: You said: "Here Tim, we have consider the time when God said said this to His servant. At this time the existence of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are not yet porclaim to the people of Israel. Adam Moses and other indeed have no idea that there will be Jesus Christ. In the new Testament indeed people belong to that generations that there is Holy Spirit until Jesus Christ told this to His apostle. That is whay it is really true that time is really correct that there is no God before Him and After Him because the proclaimation for Jesus Christ are not yet done." So, was God lying when He said there "was no other and would be no other gods"? Progressive revelation is a fact of the Old Testament, but God never accomadated His revelation by lying. He does not always say everything which could be said on a subject, but everything He says is true. Your own verses (Is. 43:10-11)say that there is no other God before or after. 2) Response to Challenge: a) Phil. 2:6 - "Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped," - He already was equal with God. b) John 1:1 - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." - If Jesus is God than He must be equal to God. c) John 5:18 - "For this reason the Jews tried all the harder to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God." - The Jews understood what Jesus was claiming for Himself. d) John 14:16 says that the Father will send the Holy Spirit, while John 15:26 says that Jesus will send the Holy Spirit. How could both be true, unless both are the One God? These should suffice. I'm not saying that your verses about Jesus and His relationship to the Father are not true. Listen very carefully, they are, but they only described the relationship between Jesus and the Father during the incarnation. In terms of His essential nature - He is God and there is ONLY ONE GOD, not three. This One God is manifested in three distinct Persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). These three Persons all share the same exact attributes, but differing roles. p.s. - By the way, I forgot where you said you lived Johnny! Where do you live? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
