AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, "Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. |
Bible Question: Does it not seem that the "fuller" formula does not call upon the name of Jesus? Col 3:17 says '...do all in the name of the Lord Jesus...' Fuller seems neuter, and TV agrees. Father-Son-Holy Spirit is not metioned after Christ's resurrection, But Jesus' name invoked often. Though brief, Jesus' name seems powerful, and apparently satisfies Jesus' command in Matthew. |
Bible Answer: Amen Chris. I am Oneness Apostolic, and I know for certain that we are to be baptized in Jesus'Name in ordered to be saved -- it is part of God's plan of Salvation as is repentance, and infilling of the Spirit(Acts 2:38). Our Salvation experience is three-fold |
