1 | Trinity (again)? | Acts 2:38 | Robert Nicholson | 29947
Johnny You do not offend me. Your reference to Eph.5:31 regarding a man and his wife becoming one flesh. This again is an example of order. The man is the head of the woman, they have distinct spheres and yet they are equal to each other in the Lord. The reference I gave regarding God being the head of Christ again shows order, not inferiority. Dear brother, I am glad that you agree in the 3 persons of the Godhead. Even the mother of the Lord Jesus could say regarding him "my heart doth rejoice in God my Saviour" In John 17 Jesus prays "This is life eternal, that they may know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent." God bless you brother Robert |

Dear Robert, Nice discussion to you! one more thing In John 17 Jesus prays "This is life eternal, that they may know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent." Joh 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. Next time please put comman after the word God, it a big difference. I hope you just miss out not intentionally. God bless, Johnny |

3 | Trinity (again)? | Acts 2:38 | Ray | 31804
Hi Johnny and anyone interested in this verse, I believe Scripture when it says that "the one sent is not greater than the one who sent him." However, I believe that the One who sent Jesus Christ has made His name known to them, and will make it known; John 17:26. They both are One. The name and authority that Jesus had came from Him; John 17:2. The use of the comma that you suggest and is indeed used in the King James, can show either the difference in Persons or it can add to the picture of Jesus Christ being "in" God. In between these commas is Jesus Christ and we truly understand that He came forth from God; John 17:8. In verse 3, I can picture the only true (God), and in the commas the Son of God, whom He sent. This is a rather different posting, but I hope it helps someone. Later, Ray |
