Dear Charis, May I response for what you wrote? "And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.'" Matthew 28:18 NASB. Whose gave it to Him? Himself or the Father? "I and the Father are one." John 10:30 NASB. Joh 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. Joh 10:30 I and my Father are one. If you are started it from verse 27 you will know they are one on what? they are one plan they are one in taking care of their flocks. But He never say there that they are equal. Here is the example of "one" Joh 17:11 ΒΆ And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. How many person's now could be granting that we are one of them? This is the counting of scriptures He has different way counting maybe we as human has limited langaues or counting so speak. Joh 17:22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one What I said really is they are not equal. None in the scriptures that Jesus claimed that He is equal as the Father. As I said I believe there is only one God the Father, only one God the Son, and one Holy Spirit. The Father is not the Son, the same as not the Holy Spirit. If you tell me that they are Three yes! in my counting as human, but in the counting of God they are one but not equal. "Sometimes it seems like you feel you have a personal revelation of God that is superior to anyone else. I would say that this is a dangerous attitude." No! trust me. I know who will say that he has strong believe is a weak indeed, That is why please pray for me. I also pray that God will help me to make strong my very weak faith on Him. Those word I used sometimes offended you, and I am sorry for that. You get rid of me Charis? Joke only. Adios really is not a native languages of the Philippines Goodbye in our languages is "babay" it means "bye bye" God bless, Johnny |

Mabuhay, Johnny, No, I'm not offended. I simply think that you are much more worried about the one word 'equal' than I am. The Father is God, Jesus is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. They are one. This is what is known as the mystery of the Tri-une God, or Trinity. That They are one means that the three Persons are equally God, but not the exact same (your word, equal). I do see your point, but it kind of petty, and gets you off-track. I know that the Father is not Jesus is not the Holy Spirit. This is what the Oneness people try to say. But you get into a confused rut if you try to 'solve' the mystery by saying that there are three Gods (or two Gods plus a Holy Spirit, as you have been saying). In my humble opinion, it is an unnecessary 'over-swing' of the pendulum of common sense to make such statements. However, you are free to express your opinions. Please just make sure that you call them opinions, not fact. A great deal of the 'facts' will not be revealed until our Lord returns to 'fill in the blanks' and throw His holy light upon those mysteries. By the way, when I was last there, the Philippines had three official languages, English, Tagalog, and Spanish. Did that change? :-) (I know that Spanish-speakers are dwindling) Blessings to you in Christ Jesus, charis |
