1 | Trinity? | Acts 2:38 | jlpangilinan | 29603
Dear Charis, I know majority of trinitarian do believe that God the Father God the Son and Holy spirit are the same person, the Father is also the son the same as the Holy Spirit. We are believed different, we believed that there is Only one God the Father there is only one God the Son and one Holy Spirit, but there are not the same person. God bless, Johnny |

Dear Johnny, Greetings in the name of Jesus! Friend, this is a bit confusing. I have never heard a 'Trinitarian' say that the Father is the Son is the Holy Spirit. This sounds a lot more like 'Oneness' or 'Modalism' to me. However, to say that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are not the same person is a bit beyond traditional 'Trinitarian' theology. Perhaps you mean that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are the three Persons of the Godhead, and He is one God? Another common way to state it is that the Father is God, Jesus is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and there is but one God. Would this be your belief? Blessings to you, too. In Christ Jesus, charis |

HELLO, I HAVE ALWAYS FELT THIS TO BE ONE OF THE MOST CONFUSING DOCTRINES IN THE BIBLE. HOWEVER, I KNOW GOD'S WAYS ARE NOT LIKE OUR WAYS. TO UNDERSTAND GOD AND HIS BEING WOULD BE LIKE AN AMOEBA TRYING TO FIGURE US OUT! I TRULY BELIVE ONE OF THE REASONS WHY GOD CAME DOWN TO EARTH IN JESUS CHRIST IS TO RELATE TO US AND FOR US TO UNDERSTAND GOD'S NATURE. GOD IS THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT, EACH FULFILLING THIER GODHEAD ROLES, DISTINCT YET THE SAME. GOD HAS REVEALED HIMSELF TO US AS THE FATHER THROUGH CREATION OF THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH, THE SON AS JESUS CHRIST TO SHOW US THE LOVE HE HAS FOR US, AND AS THE HOLY SPIRIT, AN INVISIBLE GUIDENCE IN OUR DAILY LIFE, THE COMFORTER. THIS IS HOW I SEE OUR GOD THROUGH THE BIBLE! GOD BLESS |

Can you show me a biblical support that they are equal? if you cannot where did you got your source? Do you beleive that they are equal? Show me the verse that will shows that they are equal. Jesus Christ never claim that they are equal, do you think you good than Him that will come out with the conclusion that they are equal. Jesus said Father is Greater than Him is Jesus a liar? 5 | Trinity (again)? | Acts 2:38 | Morant61 | 29773
Greetings Johnny! The most basic arugment for the equality of God the Son and God the Father is that there is only one God. Therefore, if the Father is God and the Son is God, they by definition must be equal - since they are the same (see John 1:1). Further than that though are other passages - like Phil. 2:5-11. This passage clearly shows that Jesus possessed equality with God, but did not cling to it. Instead, He lowered Himself by taking on human nature. This is the explanation of the verses which you quoted and referred to - Jesus was submissive to the Father during His incarnation. So, during that time, Jesus could say that the Father was greater than He. By definition, since Jesus had a body, the Father was greater. However, that was not the case in the eternal past nor will it be the case in the eternal future. By nature, Jesus is the only God and in Him the fulness of God dwells bodily (Col. 2:9). Dear Tim, Can you explain between Almighty and Mighty I think there are differences between the two. Ge 28:3 And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people; Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Or you will say that Isaiah is imprudent to wrote they Mighty instead of Almighty. You said:like Phil. 2:5-11. This passage clearly shows that Jesus possessed equality with God, but did not cling to it. Instead, He lowered Himself by taking on human nature. Here in this passages that you quoted, of course He is God He did not cling to His being God before He form as a human. Because He is God before the birth of Mary. But not His equality to God the father. Meaning His not cling to what he was before, but not as a God the father before. It is very clear that Jesus himself taught us that His Father is greater than He is why we should not believed in Him? Why we keep trying to made out our toughts that they are equal? It is Jesus Christ Himself accepted that His Father is Greater than Him. Is Jesus Christ lie to us? Jesus Christ also said that it is Father knows when is the time of His second coming, Is that possible that if they are equal He dont know something that know of His father? Tim, it is Jesus said that His father is greater than He is, is this hard to believed? Do you think its a trick? if we are really a follower of Him we must believed in Him instead of come out of any conclusions that not mention by Him. As a pentecostal before, I am belong to the same believed, but I think it is lack of biblical explainations since it was Jesus Himself said that they are not equal so I have to believed in Him instead of conclusions. Tim, I am not saying that trinitarian believe is wrong, who is can justify us people who is really right or wrong it is only God. That is why I am always pray that God may help me if I done something wrong that I dont know. If I define them wrong in my shorcoming as a human may God forgive me and help to make me strong in my weak believe. I know the most important is the great two commandments and the other passages will show us as a guideline how to perform the two gratest commandments. God bless, Johnny |

7 | Trinity (again)? | Acts 2:38 | Morant61 | 29782
Greetings Johnny! Three quick comments if I may! 1) You still haven't dealt with the clear Scriptures that I listed for you which state that there is "NO OTHER GOD". Less clear Scripture must always be interpreted by clear Scripture. These verses don't say that there are no other "almighty" gods. They say that there are "NO" other gods. Therefore, there can't be three. 2) All of the verses which you quoted about the relationship between the Father and the Son describe the relationship between them during the incarnation. During the incarnation (and only then), Jesus was limited, human, and under the authority of the Father. That however is not His normal state of being. Phil. 2:5 tells us what His "Normal" state is - God. 3) Concerning the supposed difference between "Almighty" and "Mighty". The word for "mighty" is the Hebrew word, 'gibbowr'. Besides Is. 9:6, it is used in the following verses in reference to God. a) Deut. 10:17 - "For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:" b) Neh. 9:32 - "Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day." c) Is. 10:21 - "The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God." d) Jer. 32:18 - "Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name," e) Zeph. 3:17 - "The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing." All of these verses clearly refer to the Father. So, "No" I don't see any difference between "almighty" and "mighty". Both are adjectives which describe God. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
