1 | Trinity? | Acts 2:38 | Morant61 | 29771 | ||
Greetings Johnny! Before we get into a long discussion of the Trinity, please deal with the verses I quoted to you in my last post. Every one of them said that there is "no other god". They didn't say that there is no other "god the father". They said no other gods period. There are idols, which are called gods. There are humans, who were called gods. But, there are no other "real" gods. Only God is self-existant, uncreated, all-power, all-present, and all-knowing. So, since Scripture says that there are no other gods, how can you say that there are three? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Dear Tim, Isa 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. Isa 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. This verse are the most favorite verses of Jehoves Witnesses. Here Tim, we have consider the time when God said said this to His servant. At this time the existence of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are not yet porclaim to the people of Israel. Adam Moses and other indeed have no idea that there will be Jesus Christ. In the new Testament indeed people belong to that generations that there is Holy Spirit until Jesus Christ told this to His apostle. That is whay it is really true that time is really correct that there is no God before Him and After Him because the proclaimation for Jesus Christ are not yet done. It is the same thing that before at the time of Adam and moses they have no idea that if they are going to die there is heaven and hell awaits for them. Do you mean we are not going to believe that there is no heaven and hell because this not reveal for them? or we say that the plan of God changing in the matter of time. Because before there is no heaven proclaim and the time of Jesus Christ there was? Now my challenge for you Tim, is could you show me the verses that will stated that God the Father and God the Son and Holy Spirit are equal. Please show me also that Jesus Christ proclaim that God the Father and Jesus Christ are equal. Did you say that there are three and co-equal in a God head could please show me that there are teaching of Jesus Christ about that. When Jesus Christ said that Father is Greater than Him is He telling lie? because you said they are co-equal. Who is telling the truth you or Jesus Christ? I did answer your question Tim, please I hope you will explain my questions. Please forgive me for my line of questioning, trust me I am enjoying this disscussion. God bless, Johnny |

Greetings Johnny! A quick question and then a response to your challenge. 1) Question: You said: "Here Tim, we have consider the time when God said said this to His servant. That is whay it is really true that time is really correct that there is no God before Him and After Him because the proclaimation for Jesus Christ are not yet done." So, was God lying when He said there "was no other and would be no other gods"? Progressive revelation is a fact of the Old Testament, but God never accomadated His revelation by lying. He does not always say everything which could be said on a subject, but everything He says is true. Your own verses (Is. 43:10-11)say that there is no other God before or after. 2) Response to Challenge: a) Phil. 2:6 - "Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped," - He already was equal with God. b) John 1:1 - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." - If Jesus is God than He must be equal to God. c) John 5:18 - "For this reason the Jews tried all the harder to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God." - The Jews understood what Jesus was claiming for Himself. d) John 14:16 says that the Father will send the Holy Spirit, while John 15:26 says that Jesus will send the Holy Spirit. How could both be true, unless both are the One God? These should suffice. I'm not saying that your verses about Jesus and His relationship to the Father are not true. Listen very carefully, they are, but they only described the relationship between Jesus and the Father during the incarnation. In terms of His essential nature - He is God and there is ONLY ONE GOD, not three. This One God is manifested in three distinct Persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). These three Persons all share the same exact attributes, but differing roles. p.s. - By the way, I forgot where you said you lived Johnny! Where do you live? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Dear Tim, Thanks for the response, your answers to the the challenge I am sorry I am not convince with those. Phil 2:6 I did explain that to you. John 1:1 John mention that Jesus Christ was the word and the word was with God and the word was God" but not mentioned there the they are equal with God the Father. I do believe that Jesus is God. John 14:6 Of course Jesus Christ will pray for His father to send the Holy Spirit. But did you not answer when Jesus clearly stated that His father is greater than He is is he lie Tim? Is that in the nature of Jesus to lie? Why it is very hard to us to accept that Jesus Christ himself accepted that the Father is Greater than He is. Is Jesus lie when He says this? When Jesus said that only the Father knows when He sent back here to judge, is He lie? If he dont lie, why you dont believe on Him? instead come out with the conclusions that they are equal. Please answer this. As I told you He never stated that they are equal He always said that His father is greater than Him. If you are not believe what Jesus said how could believe in any explaination,. Please show me clearly the verses that will stated that Jesus says "Me and the Father are equal"! God bless, Johnny P.S. I came from Philippines. |
