AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 2:14 ¶ But the natural [unbelieving] man does not accept the things [the teachings and revelations] of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness [absurd and illogical] to him; and he is incapable of understanding them, because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated, [and he is unqualified to judge spiritual matters]. |
Subject: How can anyone be saved? |
Bible Note: Hello, It seems like no matter what I write in this forum, even if I agree totally I always get an arguement. I am not here to argue, nor to show how much I know. I know nothing except what the Lord has revealed through me. Romans 16:26 tells us that we were given the gospel, which is the message of calvary, FOR OBEDIENCE, this is plain english to me, it doesn't need any commentary. I know we have to obey God and all His commandments, but our obedience will not save us, only the grace of God, at the judgement, when He dismisses our case. This is what "saves" us. In you opinion what is the gospel? 1 Cor 15:1-4 gives us a good idea, but where is Paul going with this? What does it mean that Christ died for our sins? Does this take away from our obligation to obey God's laws? Just because we break a law does that do away with it? If you went in front of a judge and he dismissed your case you have just been saved by grace, but what happened to that law? If you are going to quote a verse use the whole thing, Romans 8:1 ends with "who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit." This is a very important piece of information that BTW has been left out of the modern translations. God Bless you Jeff W |
