AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 2:14 ¶ But the natural [unbelieving] man does not accept the things [the teachings and revelations] of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness [absurd and illogical] to him; and he is incapable of understanding them, because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated, [and he is unqualified to judge spiritual matters]. |
Subject: How can anyone be saved? |
Bible Note: Hi Lionstrong, The sentence sounded right to me when I wrote it. I still think that the GOAL in our instruction and witnessing should be that the person would feel the love of God. Paul was shown the love of God. 1 Tim 1:14, "and the grace of our Lord/ was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus." This faith and love that is found in Christ Jesus is the same faith and love that is found in mothers who are bearing and rearing the children. See 1 Timothy 1:15 Do you know any child or Christian, that is living an abundant life, that doesn' t know and feel that he/she is loved? The words love and faith are close together in 2 Timothy 2:22 also. "Now flee from youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the (Lord) from a PURE HEART." 1 Timothy 1:5b, "...which give rise to mere speculation rather than furthering the administration of (God) which is by faith. But the goal of our instruction is love from a PURE HEART and a good conscience and a sincere faith." The time that a person does not feel loved by God when first professing faith might be when that person has yet a sin of which he has not repented. Or one that he is struggling with yet. And as your Mark 1:15 reference says, "repent and believe the gospel of God." The goal of our instruction is love, but we can not know or control a person's feelings about his relationship with God. So I believe that God wants believers to feel loved ; because we are. From the heart, Ray |
