NASB | 1 Corinthians 2:14 ¶ But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 2:14 ¶ But the natural [unbelieving] man does not accept the things [the teachings and revelations] of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness [absurd and illogical] to him; and he is incapable of understanding them, because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated, [and he is unqualified to judge spiritual matters]. |
Subject: How can anyone be saved? |
Bible Note: Hank: Without hesitation or reservation, I give you my full agreement and support in this matter. To all I say: Where the never-ending, divisive, disruptive debate over Calvinism is concerned -- ENOUGH IS ENOUGH already. GIVE IT A REST, folks. (No one need ask me anything regarding what I believe. My understanding of THE BIBLE DOCTRINE OF ELECTION has been clearly and repeatedly presented in the past. One need only use the SEARCH function, enter the word "election" and my username, kalos, to read what I have already posted.) Grace to you, kalos P.S. You write: "Let's stop . . . the unending soap boxing of one belief system at the expense of all others." I agree and may I add: "Look for people who always seem stuck on one over-emphasized point of theology. This is the person who bangs the proverbial drum for his own little area. Some crazy quirk. And it usually is not some great divine insight. They'd like you to think they're so close to God that they have a great divine insight that no one else has. The fact of the matter is they're seeking a platform for the feeding of their ego. Watch for people with a lack of balance" (heard on Christian radio). |
