AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 2:14 ¶ But the natural [unbelieving] man does not accept the things [the teachings and revelations] of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness [absurd and illogical] to him; and he is incapable of understanding them, because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated, [and he is unqualified to judge spiritual matters]. |
Subject: How can anyone be saved? |
Bible Note: Hello Jeff First let me apologise, if I sound rude. But, what is that? Where did you read that the obeying of the Gospel cannot save us? It is your idea or somebody told you? You say that the Gospel gives us obedience. Where did you read this? That it causes us to obey all of God's commandments! I have no idea where you read this either, sounds good,! but I don't know where it is in the Bible. After that, you point to Romans 16:25-26. And I read it but I did not see any relationship with what you are telling me. The only thing I see in those two verses is that this guy, Tertius, writing a doxology to the only wise God, (writing what Paul has asking him to write to finish the epistle) He start saying “to him who is able to establish you by my gospel” So right here the Bible, not me, is telling you the power of the Gospel, “it is able to establish you” what does it mean to establish you? Doesn't it mean to give a new start? set you well? and all of this according to the revelation of the mistery hidden for long ages past. But now it is revealed and all the nations might believe and obey him. The question here now is "How do we obey him?" Have not you read what's been the problem? Not all have obeyed or accepted the gospel (good news) (Romans 10:16) Can you tell me what do you understand when you read 2 Thes 1:8. Isn't it telling you that the Gospel needs to be obey? Jeff, indeed, you cannot obey the Gospel if you don't know what the Gospel is. You cannot obey what you don't know. I want you to study deeply these verses: 1 Cor. 15:1-4. (where, Paul gives the definition of the Gospel), Romans 6:3-4 (where, he tells you how to obey it), Romans 8:1 (where he tells you that there is not condemnation for those “in” Christ) and Gal 3:27 (where he tells you "how" you get “in” Christ). I pray the Lord to help you understand what I am showing you, it is in your benefit. Solo Verdad |
