AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 2:14 ¶ But the natural [unbelieving] man does not accept the things [the teachings and revelations] of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness [absurd and illogical] to him; and he is incapable of understanding them, because they are spiritually discerned and appreciated, [and he is unqualified to judge spiritual matters]. |
Bible Question (short): Saving graces? |
Question (full): Greetings John! In advance, please forgive my theological ignorance but I have never heard the term "saving graces" before! Could you please show me where you get this Scripturally. "God employs prayers and preaching as the means by which He saves." "Conversion is is accomplished when God bestows upon us the saving graces of repentance and faith." Thanks! Blessings, Mommapbs PS: Whitfield's quote, " And who that attends, especially with reverence and care, can tell but he may be found of that happy number?" Why are reverence and care required? Are these part of what God gives the "elect" that enables them to believe? |
