1 | How can anyone be saved? | 1 Cor 2:14 | John Reformed | 61030
Hi Ed, It is always good to hear from you. " if God never allowed Jerry to make the choice how can you say Jerry made a choice?" God does allow Jerry to make the choice. Jerry has a free will and can weigh in His mind all of the options! Easy now Ed, let me explain. God does not force anyone to choose anything. But unregenerate (natural) man will NEVER of his own free will recieve Christ. Why you ask? Because to him it is foolishness. (1 Cor 2:14) Jerry is free to obey and follow the desires of his heart. The problem with Jerry is that he (like all of us) is a son of Adam and as such has been cursed by God with a heart of stone. That is why I believe that it takes a miracle of God alone to save anyone. The unbelieving heart must be replaced with a heart that does believe. Ezek 11:19 "And I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them. And I will take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh,". Brother John |

John Nice dance! Either Jerry had a choice or he did not. I understand what you saying about an unregenerated heart and the special miracle of salavation. I know that God knew if Jerry was going to chose Christ or not. The quesiton I asked is if God never gave Jerry a choice how can you say Jerry had a choice? EdB |

3 | How can anyone be saved? | 1 Cor 2:14 | John Reformed | 61044
Dear Ed, If your going to dance with me again your gonna have stop stepping on my feet! You insist that my view must lead to God not allowing Jerry a choice. I say Jerry had a choice. I think that the problem is that you see Jerry's choice as a phoney choice because he cannot choose Christ but he can only choose against Christ. Which is no choice at all. Am I right? Before I go any further, let me know if i have correctly identfied the reason for your objection. John |

4 | How can anyone be saved? | 1 Cor 2:14 | EdB | 61046
John No I see Jerry having to reject Christ in your scenario. Jesus paid the price for us all. It is done! Finished! It is then us that reject that salvation. I’m saying in your scenario because as you say Jerry was not elected he then had to reject what Christ had done for him. And that to me is no choice but directed action. Liken to a robot. I never once touched your foot you mistaken me for someone else sir! EdB |
