Dear Hank To me, it is as accurate an interpretation of biblical truth as can be found from the pen of uninspired writers. I have not seen anyone yet, on this forum or elsewhere, offer a successful, Scripturally based refutation of any one of the 5 points of the T.U.L.I.P. Of course throwing out blanket charges of it's failure as a credible system of theology is much easier. Hank ole pal, You must understand the nature of TULIP. It is an essential part of the system of Reformed theology. We are not the new kids on the block but have been actively involved in evangelism for 500 years or more. The protestant form of christianity exists today because God raised up men like Luther, Calvin, Knox and others who restored the gospel that Paul preached to the church of Jesus Christ! FAITH ALONE! Calvinism did not sound the death knell of evangelism for George Whitfield or Jonathon Edwards. What christianity that remains in America today is due in large part to the First Great Awakening that brought untold thousands to Christ. Charles Haddon Spurgeon was not a "free willer" and yet he is considered to have been the greatest evangelist of his time. Your own denomination was primarily calvinist at one time, and from what I have been reading there is a new call for reformation even now among many Southern Baptists. Don't fret over my little flower my friend. It is in Good Hands.(And I don't mean Allstate) Bubba John |

John: You write, "Hank, ole pal, you must understand the nature of TULIP.".... Well John, ole pal, I have been wrestling with the "nature of TULIP" 50 years and still don't tiptoe through the tulips with any particular relish! --Hank | ||||||
