1 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | Rom831 | 30315
But the son previously had life, the was dead, and was alive again. So it wasn't just someone lost then found. And it doens't make sense that it was Jews/Gentiles because He doesn't use any of His comon analogies for them. Also, neither case fits the gentiles. They weren't always saved, neither were they saved, lost, and saved. And why would it be the Jews? What point would He have been trying to make? They were God's chosen, lost, then came back? No need for a parable there, that's not a lesson, just history. I agree there are other places to prove this as well. I just cant see any other reasonable or useful intrepretation of this passage. 2 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | Hank | 30322
Art, there are three parables in Luke 15. They deal with the same subject or theme. Define this first and you will be on your way to a proper interpretation of all three parables. Isn't it always wise to sneak a look at the forest before we start counting the trees and even the number of rings on each tree? --Hank
3 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | Rom831 | 30621
Ok...? The first two deal with the lost being found; with Jesus' giving salvation. So does the third. However the third is dealing with one who WAS alive with God, then dead, then alive "again." I'm sorry, its right there. The only way to deny it is to ignore what is said. Bless...ArtS |
