Bible Note: FTimA: In the event that you feel you are enlightening me (and other members of the forum) with new "truth" a la Alexander Campbell and his friends, please be made aware that you are not. Tonight I decided to review a large number of former threads in which two members of the "Church of Christ" were highly active. You are invited, by the way, to read their posts, and may do so through Search and typing in their user names in the appropriate box. They are RAVEN and Grace and Truth. I was not surprised to see that they presented the same old arguments on the same themes as you are presenting on the forum now, viz., (1) that the denomination known as the Church of Christ is the only true church, and all others are man-made organizations, or to use your phrase, are 'products of Satan' -- a view that is nothing short of bigotry; (2) that water baptism saves; and (3) that good works keep one saved. Additionally, these two users also told us (4) how sinful instrumental music is in the worship service, but perhaps you should remind us one more time. The Bible does not teach, and I do not subscribe to, a single one of these four points. .... FTimA, my point is this: In view of my experience, and the experience I have observed with my colleagues on the forum, in trying to debate biblical issues with you and those of your stripe, I honestly cannot view it as anything but an exercise in futility. I will not debate any issue with any man whose mind, I feel almost certain, is closed tighter than a drum. Your post to which this is a response contains statements that, by any measure with which I am acquainted, are riddled with errors, both theological and logical, but I will make no attempt at a line-by-line rebuttal of any of them. What I am saying to you, for my part in this debate, is a final farewell. I bid you every good wish for your spiritual and physical health, your happiness, and that the blessings of our Savior and Lord be multipled in you and your family. --Hank |
