Subject: "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! |
Bible Note: That is quite a quote, but the doctrine of "once-saved, always-saved," while held in a certain sense by Calvin, did not originate with Calvin. It would be nice to know the sources you are quoting from, by the way, since it completely botches up on its explanation of Calvinism on the points of unconditional election and the association that Calvin made between baptism and salvation. If you want to argure Calvin's understanding of Scripture, that is great, but what is in your text is NOT what Calvin held, nor what Reformed theologians hold today. Also interesting to note that you apparently deny the doctrine of depravity and original sin, which is clearly illustrated in Romans 5 and Romans 8:9 and has been held by the church in all of its history. But in the Campbell-Stone restorationist mindset that you apparently support, the church disappeared until the "Church of Christ" suddenly sprang up 200 years ago. --Joe! |
