Subject: "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! |
Bible Note: FTimA: Greetings again! I have followed the thread down and I think I hnow the answer to my last note to you. I think what might be helpful to you would be to notice when the note or question you are responding to is dated. Nothing wrong in making a note on anything, but sometimes the person is no longer with the forum, or the subject has been worn out. The "once saved always saved" is one of those issues. The end results several times has been no one was able to change anyone elses held position on this. This has been an issue that has caused some deep wounds and anger and bitter words were exchanged. I would hope never to see that happen again. In my opinion Galations 5:6 is the answer to the divisions that Christians have on some textual understandings of theology. "THE ONLY THING THAT COUNTS IS FAITH EXPRESSING ITSELF THROUGH LOVE." I believe when we love and respect another believer with different views, that are still within "Christian Orthodoxy", and can lovingly hear and listen, without demanding we have to only true answer, than dialogue is good. I happen to believe that faith that faulters, had a flaw in it from the first. I can see how some believe that in order to be saved you must be baptized. I do not totally agree with that. I can say a Christian who refuses to be baptized, most assuredly has flawed faith. Now I do not expect to see or do I ask anyone to agree with me, or to change to my point of view. For the sake of talking about my Theology, I share with you my understanding of scripture. I would set before you the question what is 1 John 1: 9,10 refer to? I am a sinner! I regulary have to confess sin. I struggle with the "old nature". I think, most all of us have a sinful nature, and will sin, until we die. I don't think sinless perfection is possible until we have been transformed when we meet the Lord. So my understanding is that unconfessed sin is loss of rewards, not punishment in heaven, again this is my understanding. I am dialoguing. not being arguementive. Think on these things.
