Subject: "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! |
Bible Note: I was not misrepresenting the point of the parable. Rather I was showing that how, by following your example of trying to draw a spiritual inference from ever single aspect of the parable, that it is easy to come to false conclusions, as I hold that you have done with the parable of the lost son. What YOU keep ignoring in your posts is the context of the story and why Jesus told it. I will make you a deal, Art. If you can show me how your interpretation of the parable of the lost son addresses the situation which gave rise to it, I will accept it. Specifically, how does the "lost-saved-lost" scenario you present fit with this situation? "Now all the tax collectors and the sinners were coming near Him to listen to Him. Both the Pharisees and the scribes began to grumble, saying, "This man receives sinners and eats with them." So He told them this parable, saying...' --Luke 15:1-3 For those who think that salvation is a revolving door, I always wonder how they address verses like this as well... "For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame." --Hebrews 6:4-6 --Joe! |
