Subject: Did Jesus suffer in hell when he died? |
Bible Note: Hello, EdB. As for me, I'm quite willing to, and do, go on record as saying that any attempt by man to presume to put the sovereign Almighty God in a position by which He can be manipulated and controlled by human faith goes beyond mere heresy. It is blasphemy. God is not indebted to us, is not obligated to us, owes us nothing; and were it not for His grace we all of us would spend eternity in hell. The ideas of our striking a deal with God, or having bargaining power with God, or being empowered to place God under obligation to us are not only horrid and hideous, but too utterly absurd to merit even passing consideration. We were sinners, lost and estranged from God, with no other plea than that the blood of Jesus Christ was shed for you and me. Thank you, Ed, for your strong leadership in guiding this thread and this forum in exposing the errors of these false doctrines by which many are being led away from the truth of God's word. Yours in Christ, --Hank |
