Subject: Did Jesus suffer in hell when he died? |
Bible Note: Gracefull you said: "It is finished was said before he died..." The Greek word for "it is finished" is "teleo" means "paid in full". It is a word that was commonly used in the time of Christ in the market place regarding payment for goods and services. "...not after which is where you believe the atonement took place." I belive the atonement took place upon the cross. When Jesus said it was "finished" He was referring to the suffering He experienced in place of His chosen people. That is why we preach Christ and Him crucified! You said: "I believe it is finished was the completion fo the process of sin upon him. Then he died." What would becoming sin accomplish if it were not for the atonement of His people? In answer to your question: The punishment for the reprobate is eternal damnation. Also, I was unable to read the "apologetic" you suggested. Frankly, the teachings of the faith movement cause me much sorrow and anger. I listened to them for many years and am already all too familiar with their doctrines. In the meantime, please reconcile the verses I sent in my last post, with your beliefs. John |
