Subject: Did Jesus suffer in hell when he died? |
Bible Note: Dear Gracefull, John 19:30 Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. Luke 23:46 And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, "Father, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT." Having said this, He breathed His last. How do you reconcile your doctrine of the spiritual death of Christ with these verses? Jesus is fully man and fully God. Though the perfect comprehension of the dual nature of Our Lord is beyond our limeted capacity, the fact of the matter is: it is taught in Scripture and is to be recieved by all true believers. Kenneth Copeland has gone so far as to say that the 2nd person of the Trinity was cut off from the Father and from the Holy Spirit! Do you believe Copeland is right? And, if so, how does this square with the immutable natire of God? Zeal for God is of no profit if it is not in accordance to the truth of God. Paul warns us that our lives depend on a right perception of who God is: Rom 10:2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge. I hope you will heed something of what you have been told by others on the forum such as EdB, Hank and Justme. May The Lord be with You, John |
