Subject: Did Jesus suffer in hell when he died? |
Bible Note: justme, I have not read Christianity in Crisis, by Hank Hanegraaff, but I have often listened to "The Bible Answer Man" broadcast. I often think that Hank goes too far in lumping all faith teaching into "word of faith" condemnation. Some statements are very marginal. At the same time, I have heard him play some very outrageous audio statements from Benny Hinn and others. Heb 1:3By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. 6But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Also, Jesus had something to say about ministries in His name: Mark 9: 38 Now John answered Him, saying, "Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow us." 39But Jesus said, "Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me. 40For he who is not against us is on our[3] side. 41For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.
