1 | Did Jesus suffer in hell when he died? | Luke 23:46 | gracefull | 65265
Pastor Glenn... The faith teachers I have listened to hold the Word of God probably in higher esteem tham most 'orthodox' faiths. They teach that God's word is God's covenant and that the faith in God's Word produces the manifestation of the promise. They view God's word as reverently as God Himself because it is God Himself in covenant. They view the covenant (New Testament) as God's covenant with man and that God obligated Himself to fulfill His promises to us if we accept them by faith. For some reason (misquotes is all I have seen so far) there is an accusation that they teach the mind over matter concept or the New Thought which Hank H. quoted in his books as me believing my thought create. But Kenneth Copeland and E.W.Kenyon teach that we are to replace our thoughts with God's word which is God's thougts. (being transormed by the renewed mind). I truly can't understand why there is so much resistence to such a simple truth. We received salvation the same way. Heard God's word, believed, God's word, obeyed God's word. Any questions? God bless. |

2 | Did Jesus suffer in hell when he died? | Luke 23:46 | EdB | 65294
Graceful The is empirically not true. Word of Faith attempts to use God’s words to manipulate God into doing what they desire and do it under the guise of “faith”. Every WOF teacher I know of has at one time or another taught that saying “thy will be done” is a sin in that it shows a lack of faith and/or knowledge of God’s promise in the person’s life. However I that is exactly what Jesus said so this teaching then puts Jesus outside of what they consider to normative. I think that to be a problem. EdB |

3 | Did Jesus suffer in hell when he died? | Luke 23:46 | Pastor Glenn | 65355
EdB, I do not believe in the WOF movements "name it and claim it" prosperity sayings. I also believe that "thy will be done" is not a sin since Jesus said it. I am not at all now and niether do I plan to be involved in WOF teaching. I am saying that we should not throw out the baby with the bath water. God has made promises and covenants that He will not break and we do need to know, and understand, God's covenants with us: Numbers 23:19 "God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? The following scripture is not directly related to this subject, but I just like to read it: 2 Peter 3 8But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us,[1] not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. |

4 | Did Jesus suffer in hell when he died? | Luke 23:46 | EdB | 65402
Pastor Glenn Your absolutely right God has made a covenant with us, He said if we believe in his Son and accept Him as our Lord and Savior we will spend eternity with Him. Everything else is conditional on God's will, timing, purpose and plan. To try to take a formula and say God said thus and such and now He has to do it is not worshipping God but rather trying to put God into a human made box. You absolutely right faith is very important in fact without faith we can not please God. Faith is all important, but faith is a gift from God therefore since God has given us faith what are we giving Him when we exercise faith that makes Him indebted to us? EdB |
