1 | Did Jesus suffer in hell when he died? | Luke 23:46 | justme | 65249
Pastor Glenn: Please do not even give the slightest creditability to tho Word of Faith movement. You are making a deadly mistake to make any supportive note unless you know upon where you speak. This will come up in your ministry. You need to have a clear idea of what the Word of Faith movement is and its history. I reccomend CHRISTIANITY IN CRSIS by Hank Hanegraaff. This book should be available in most Christian Bookstores. You can also go to equip.org and even call in and the have researchers that can help with FREE information. If you think this is not something to become wise about you will be hit with it sooner than you think. I say this to you as one who has seen several churches go through disaster because of uneducated pastors got in over their heads and it was almost too late. justme |

2 | Did Jesus suffer in hell when he died? | Luke 23:46 | gracefull | 65261
I keep hearing about this book. I read several chapters last night accusing the teaching and doctrine, mainly of Kenneth Copeland, but not the first scripture to refute the scripture laden teaching. Does't anyone find this at all alarming? As I read the chapters numerous scripture came to my mind and I had my Bible and my concordance (Strong's) and not once did Hank give me a scripture to refute the one's I had confirming the teaching. Why are people so willing to accept hearsay and accusations without researching the teachings? Do we christians pass judgement on our brothers and sisters so easily because we feel our 'theology' is threatened? I reiterate, The Pharasees did the same thing to Jesus! Where is the Berean spirit. All I have received here is warnings and incinuations about how dangerous a doctrine it is. My brothers and sisters...what teaching is so dangerous and where is your SCRIPTURAL PROOF! I love God's word and believe they are the words of life for me to live by. Yours in Christ P.S. The accusation that E.W. Kenyon Mastered in the study of metaphysics, What Hank SAID cannot be proved. Hank expects his readers to accept this accusation based on the fact that Emerson University taught metaphysics. The only guilt E.W. has here is by association. E.W.'s own words teachings refute this but you would rather believ what is said about him as opposed to what he said. It is said he majored in theatre and there is no record that he even took a metaphysics class at Emerson at all. Does anyone here know where to find his 'RECORDS'? |

Gracefull: 2 Timothy 2:14, and 23. Go to equip.org. Call the free 800 nunber. Ask for the research department. They will answer all your questions! They will even send you printed proof. If they have lied then take then to task! However if they supply you with the proof, you will either ignore the truth or have to change. I would rather not dialogue with you, this leads only "to wrangle about words which is usless...". Peace. justme |

I agree that we should not strife, and I apologize if this has come to that. In defense of mysef Justme, please go back and read the first 9 entries to this thread. When I joined this thread, (the first time on this forum) I assumed this was an open forum for discussion of various interpretations of scripture. My direction to what I believe is a good site for some objective research was met with very strong opposition as if any other interpretations than your own should be avoided. I do not think this is the correct method this forum should address difference of beliefs. I expected (naively maybe) some one to read and come back with, 'I do or do not agree with this or that and I base my belief on these scriptures. What do you think?' No, as I pointed out to Ed in a lenghty post, I am not interested in the opinions of men against other men. If you guys are not willing to look at other interpretations and address them scripturally, why are you here? People with all types of teaching some correct, some incorrect are going to visit here with questions. To attack and say this is cultish without being willing to really listen to why they believe what they believe and then share scripture to hopefully correct error and maybe even learn yourselves where you are wrong. Herein we all grow up in the knowledge of Him. People who fear this type of aggresive opposition will leave taking their thought with them. I am ending my association with this thread unless someone wants to discuss it's original purpose... At which point I believe a new thread should be started with the rules of conduct respected. This issue here for me is what is the goal of this forum, to share, to learn, or does a select few want theire responses to be accepted without question. This is not unity, this is control, and control never brings a change of heart. Even God knew this so He sent his son to give us the 'choice' to resume relationship with Him. In Jesus |

Graceful First let me say if I made you feel as if I was controlling you I’m deeply sorry. I was trying to respond to your comments and why there is a problem with WOF. I got involved in this thread when you recommended another web site. I said that site is dangerous as it contained opinions and teachings of the Word of Faith movement which are considered false by orthodox Christianity. It wasn't my judgement alone the declared them false but rather the judgement of many men and women. In the council of many there is wisdom. I would be happy to take any issue you wish from web site you cited and discuss “if” there is a problem with it and what that problem is. I do ask a few conditions. All scripture used rather than being a proof text will be used to reinforce the total meaning of the gospel. That all scripture text quoted must correctly represent the truth of that text as understood in context. Each response will directly deal with the issues brought up in the previous response. All responds will be thoughtfully and prayerfully written and each fully and carefully read by the other. Neither of us will try to overpower the other with lengthy responses or endless lists of proof texts. There can be no personal attacks or insults If you would like to do this, then let’s start a new thread and begin by asking me a question or pointing me to a statement within that website. EdB |

We will but at the moment I will move myself to the thread about God's sovereignty verses is promises. I don't have a lot of time and this thread has been overly time comsuming for me. Regardless of each of our conclusions in such research this will be very good for newcomers to see the comparison. Your sister in christ, |
