1 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | FTimA | 64131
Salvation is not as simple as repenting and accepting the gift of Jesus Christ. Read Acts chapter 2. Those that heard Peter's sermon were "pricked in their hearts" and asked, "Men and brethren what shall we do?", vs 37. Peter replies, "Repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins..." Too many people today believe they can pray a "sinners prayer" and accept Jesus as their Savior. There is not one example of this method in the bible. Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16 are just three examples of baptism being a command and it is necessary, not as a work, but as an act of obedience for salvation.
2 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | Greg Martin | 64469
Luke 23 39Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, "If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us." 40But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, "Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? 41And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong." 42Then he said to Jesus, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom." 43And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise." |

3 | "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED"!!! | Matt 22:37 | FTimA | 64499
What about the thief on the cross? This question is raised all the time. My question to you and all who may read this is what covenant was the thief under, the old or the new? Jesus was still alive wasn't he? As long as Jesus remained alive the old covenant was still in effect. This is why it wasn't necessary for the thief to be baptized. |
