1 | Did Jesus suffer in hell when he died? | Luke 23:46 | EdB | 65344
graceful Think about your last sentence. "God said it, I believe it, and that settles it. God is now obligated." God said it is all that is needed. Where you beleive it of not is immaterial, don't you see by that very statement you have elevated yourself to the place of judging God's statements. Secondly God is now obligated? To whom for what? God doesn't even owe you your next breath much less anything else. Everythign we have, are, or ever shall be is a gift from God. 1 Cor. 4:7 For who regards you as superior? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it? God owns everything what does he owe you? Psalm 50:10-12 "For every beast of the forest is Mine, The cattle on a thousand hills. 11"I know every bird of the mountains, And everything that moves in the field is Mine. 12"If I were hungry I would not tell you, For the world is Mine, and all it contains. Notice God said this before the cross, it sort of blows in the WOF theory they God lost the world at the fall and had to trick Satan to get Jesus on the earth. Psalm 115:3 But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases. Notice it does not say what we pray for, have faith in or anything else if clearly says God does whatever He please. Makes him pretty sovereign to me. Job 35:6-8 "If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against Him? And if your transgressions are many, what do you do to Him? 7"If you are righteous, what do you give to Him, Or what does He receive from your hand? 8"Your wickedness is for a man like yourself, And your righteousness is for a son of man. We have nothing to give to God, this is a one way street. God in His love and mercy gives to us. Job 41:11 "Who has given to Me that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is Mine. Again conformation God owns the earth even before the cross. And if He gives to us faith how then should He reward our faith? Acts 17:24-25 "The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; 25nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things. There is nothing not even your breath that God does not give. Kind of shoots some holes in the WOF teaching doesn't it EdB |

2 | Did Jesus suffer in hell when he died? | Luke 23:46 | gracefull | 65361
What did God say to Abraham? Hebrews 6:1-14 For when God made a promise to Abraham. because He could swear by no greater, He swore by Himself, saying... John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God and the Word was God. The Word became flesh and dwelt among men... God does what He pleases...See Ephesians 1:4-6 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ himself, according to the GOOD PLEASURE OF HIS WILL, to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us ACCEPTED in the beloved, God did do what He pleased. It pleased Him to redeem us by His son and give us great and precious promise..Which we receive by faith... 1.Are you saying that God in His sovereignty has not obligated Himself to honour His Word? If He is obligated to keep His word are we still to aproach Him doubting His integrity. "God, I know you said this but I don't presume to expect you to keep you word unless you really want to." Where would that leave all who have believed and received by faith the promise of our eternal destiny? Please explain how you believe the believer (or sinner) should approach God's Word? If I don not believe God's word it will not profit me through salvation or deliverance or any of the other promises. I did not Say His word was not true if I did not believe it, but His promises (His provision through Christ) is only available to one who believes and receives by faith. For everyone else there is only the assurance of eternal damnation. I have Never said God is not sovereign, but If you believe He can act in contradition to His word I submit that you do not know Him very well. "God is not a man that He should lie." He gave us His Word so we could know His will and so we could walk in it's straight path with confidence. If He is not obligated to keep His WORD then what confidence would we have in any of His promises. He did this by His SOVEREIGN Choice. God has never and will never break His covenant. " God said it, I believe it, that settles it". The boldness I have comes from the faith I have in Jesus blood as my sin offering. God gave His word, I choose to believe His word, that settles the matter for me. Hebrews 4:16 Come blodly to the throne of grace fo find mercy and grace in the time of need. You asked..where I got my belief concerning receiving God's already provided provision by faith.. 2Peter 1:3-4 According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue, whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. ?? What did Christ NOT provide through the atonement and ressurection?( a scriptural answer here please, rather than a snide inuendo) Hebrews 10:18-20 We have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus. Ed, I will ask you nicely to stop jumping to conclusions based on your preconceived ideas of what I believe. You are taking my statements and inserting false assumptions about what I mean. I mean what I say and there is no hidden agenda. I am trying to communicate with you, but communication is not possible with you always approaching everything I say with this assumed conclusion. At the beginning of this thread I stated my faith in Jesus Christ but you continue to respond to my post as an enemy. I hope you lay down this ofensive stance. In Christ Jesus |

Graceful I'm not making any assumptions, you responded to me because I made comment that the web site you referenced was dangerous. That web site is steeped in WOF philosophy and is false and I was warning others that it did not contain the complete truth. Your defense of the web site has brought us to this point, not an assumption of mine. Your absolutely right God did promise our salvation, and I believe without doubt if we believe Jesus died for our sins and make Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God our Lord and Master we do in fact have that salvation. All the other promises of God are conditioned on His Sovereignty, He will do them as He see fit, in His perfect time, according to his perfect plan and his perfect will. We can not force God into doing something by trying to box Him in with a box made with human hands. WOF faith formulas try to do use that. They take the promises of God out of context (proof texted) and then try to impose their will on God through those promises. If God wanted to you to stop breathing in the next instant He has every right to take your breath and there not one promise or covenant He would be breaking. WOF believes God owes them because they are exercising faith. Where does faith come from? Scripture says EVERYTHING comes from the Lord. So if we are exercising the faith God gave us, how is that making God obligated to us in any way? It is not! We are only using what God has created and if we are using it correctly we are worshipping the One that created everything, not trying to manipulate Him with it. Again I’m have not made any assumptions about you, other than I assume since your defending a WOF web site you must agree with WOF. If you don’t then let may warning stand. EdB |
