NASB | 1 John 2:2 and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 2:2 And He [that same Jesus] is the propitiation for our sins [the atoning sacrifice that holds back the wrath of God that would otherwise be directed at us because of our sinful nature--our worldliness, our lifestyle]; and not for ours alone, but also for [the sins of all believers throughout] the whole world. |
Subject: How do we preach the Gospel? |
Bible Note: John No offense was taken as such. The question was asked, "If someone does not accept the Bible as God's word, then tell how you would convince them there is a Creator?" I gave a reference to a great source of information written by a man, God has given a brilliance for revealing His truth. A man whose writings have probably lead more people to the Lord the everyone combined on this forum has. I saw that reference summarily dismissed as something a “real” evangelist wouldn’t need, even though I have heard Billy Graham reference items from the book more than a few times. So I figured with so many people on the forum with such expertise on the subject of sharing the Gospel and Jesus with others, that my humble opinions weren’t needed. I would stand back and watch.
