AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 2:2 And He [that same Jesus] is the propitiation for our sins [the atoning sacrifice that holds back the wrath of God that would otherwise be directed at us because of our sinful nature--our worldliness, our lifestyle]; and not for ours alone, but also for [the sins of all believers throughout] the whole world. |
Bible Question:
Jehonadab. I have noticed that you seem to pick and choose which questions others ask of you, you will answer. Then you follow up with a wordy scroll that would boar and confuse the most learned lawyor. What is your purpose? What is your logic? What is your belief, or disbelief? Do you have a purpose, logic, belief or disbilief, or do you simply love to fill your screen with senceless babble? Just wan-der-ing Not wondering; waaandering George |
Bible Answer: George, Matthew wrote ,concerning Jesus, at the start of his ministry, in 29 C.E., "From that time on Jesus commenced preaching and saying: “Repent, you people, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.” (Matt 4:17) Furthermore, in answer to the question , "What will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”, Jesus replied,"And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come." (Matt 24:3,14) Prior to this, he said concerning God's Kingdom, "But from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of the heavens is the goal toward which men press, and those pressing forward are seizing it." (Matt 11:12) Jesus gave a life saving commission to his disciples just before he ascended to heaven, to "be witnesses of me both in Jerusalem and in all Ju·de´a and Sa·mar´i·a and to the most distant part of the earth." (Acts 1:8) Are you among the throngs who have responded to this commission and is publishing the "good news of the kingdom" ? Did not Jesus say, "He that exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life; he that disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him." (John 3:36) What does it mean to "exercise faith"? It surely cannot be by just going to church or even "being religious", for were not the Jews of Jesus day "religious"? However, he said concerning the religious leaders of his day," Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you shut up the kingdom of the heavens before men; for you yourselves do not go in, neither do you permit those on their way in to go in." Matt 23:13) Is the "kingdom" being made known by the churches today ? And why did Jesus speak so much of the "kingdom"? And when before Pontias Pilate, he said, "My kingdom is no part of this world. If my kingdom were part of this world, my attendants would have fought that I should not be delivered up to the Jews. But, as it is, my kingdom is not from this source.” (John 18:36) Hence, from the start of his ministry, to just before his death, he made known "God's kingdom". Are you making known this "government"? After having given an illustration concerning different types of "soil", his disciples asked, "Why speakest thou unto them in parables ?" , he answers,"Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not." (Matt 13:10,11, Isaiah 9:6 KJV) Can you explain what "the mysteries of the kingdom" are? There are those who "shall be willing in the day of thy power" to make known this "kingdom" government, in obedience to Jesus command, for Mark records Jesus as saying, " Also, in all the nations the good news has to be preached first." ( Mark 13:10, Psalms 110 :3 KJV) In the illustration of the "mina" at Luke 19, Jesus, spoke of "a certain man of noble birth traveled to a distant land to secure kingly power for himself and to return." He continues, "Calling ten slaves of his he gave them ten mi´nas and told them, ‘Do business till I come.’ " Three slaves are mentioned, but how did they respond to the "king's" command? "Eventually when he got back after having secured the kingly power, he commanded to be called to him these slaves to whom he had given the silver money, in order to ascertain what they had gained by business activity. Then the first one presented himself, saying, ‘Lord, your mi´na gained ten mi´nas.’ So he said to him, ‘Well done, good slave! Because in a very small matter you have proved yourself faithful, hold authority over ten cities.’.... But a different one came, saying, ‘Lord, here is your mi´na, that I kept laid away in a cloth. You see, I was in fear of you, because you are a harsh man; " How did the "king" respond? "He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I judge you, wicked slave. You knew, did you, that I am a harsh man, taking up what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow? Hence why is it you did not put my silver money in a bank? Then on my arrival I would have collected it with interest.’" Then the "king" says "Take the mi´na from him and give it to him that has the ten mi´nas.’ But they said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten mi´nas! ‘I say to you, To everyone that has, more will be given; but from the one that does not have, even what he has will be taken away..’” How important is it to do the "king's" , that is Christ Jesus , bidding ? It is a matter of life and death. You can choose for yourself what you wish to do, but the command to preach "this gospel of the kingdom" is required to gain Jehovah God's approval. Hence,it is upon me to speak the truth, yes as Jesus said to Pilate "for this I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone that is on the side of the truth listens to my voice."(John 18:37) |
