Personal profile for user screen name: stjones I'm 58, a sinner saved by grace. I've been a Christian since Christmas Eve, 1989. I'm an Elder of the Presbyterian Church (USA), fighting the good fight against those who would like to conform the church to the world.I'm also active in more traditional ways - I've led Bible studies, preached a few times, and taught adult Sunday School. Until I had to drop out because of work, I sang bass in the church choir where I could hide among more accomplished singers. In the past I have been active in the Great Banquet community (in the Cursillo and Walk to Emmaus tradition) and Habitat for Humanity. I love both the Old Testament (particularly Job and Ecclesiastes) and the New and think that Christians often don't pay enough attention to the Old. To me this is like trying to understand current American politics with no knowledge of what happened between 1620 and 1865. (This illustration probably came to mind because I have a M.A. in Political Science.) I've been a computer geek for 30 years, 12 of them spent in the Halls of Academe teaching Computer Science. I have a wife (29 years), two daughters (16, at home and 22, married), and a grandson (1). I play guitar and work wood for fun. We live with our cat Desi in north central Indiana USA.
