NASB | 1 John 2:2 and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 2:2 And He [that same Jesus] is the propitiation for our sins [the atoning sacrifice that holds back the wrath of God that would otherwise be directed at us because of our sinful nature--our worldliness, our lifestyle]; and not for ours alone, but also for [the sins of all believers throughout] the whole world. |
Subject: How do we preach the Gospel? |
Bible Note: Radioman2, Yes, I wasn't sure how to reply to these posts. Thanks for hitting it on the head. It seems as though we don't win as many souls for Christ preaching the Gospel unashamedly (Rom 1.16) as Chambers advocates, but those that hear will be sturdier converts. What do you think? My question still is, how do we preach this Gospel into the heart of the prospect (I'm in sales) in a day when sin is for nuns and pornographers, not your average Joe? Colin |
