Subject: How do we open eyes to truth? |
Bible Note: Greetings Johnny! My point in using Rom. 13:1-5 was to address the question of who gave any nation the right to use force to punish people. Rom. 13:1-5 clearly states that this authority comes from God. Now, can nations misuse that authority? Yes, they can! If they do, they will be judged by God. Concerning Bin Laden and his motivations, they are simply thugs. They aren't courageous. They kill innocent civilians. Where is he now that the military is after him? Hiding in some hole somewhere, that's where! If he really believes that he is doing all of this for Allah, he should be out there on the front lines with the rest of the cannon fodder. Concerning your points: 1) The United States has fought for Islamic countries, so we definitely aren't their enemy! 2) Aren't both Iran and Iraq Islamic countries? How does helping one over the other make us an enemy of Islam? 3) I don't understand this point at all. If the US hadn't helped Afganistan, the Russians may have defeated them. Why we helped isn't really the issue! We helped! 4) Israel is the only democracy in that part of the world. I don't think we help them enough. They have been putting up with terroism for years and the rest of the world has said, "Be patient!" Now that terrorism has hit us, the rest of the world is concerned about their safety. 5) The Taliban wants to remain in power. They had the opportunity to turn over Bin Laden and they didn't. They made their choice! Concerning China, obviously we don't want a war with them. But, I don't think we would back down from one if it were forced upon us. We apoligized for the mutual loss of life in the incident your referred to, we never claimed responsibilty. Their jet caused the accident! Finally, I hope that you can find better examples of courage and faith than a bunch of ruthless killers! Let's put their actions into perspective. Let's say that I was upset at the Taliban for their policies toward Israel. Does that give me the right to go put bombs in all of their public schools (if they had any) and kill 6,000 children? Would that be brave? Would that be justified? I don't think so! Instead, we had a problem with the Taliban because they were supporting the people who attacked us. We gave them a choice - turn him over or we will remove you from power. They refused, so we have attacked the Taliban, not their children or their civilians. Watch the news Johnny! Even the Afghans are celebrating every defeat of the Taliban. In fact, it is the Afghans themselves who are fighting the Taliban - with our helps of course. Everyone seems to forget that the Taliban is not a democratically elected government. They are a bunch of religious fanantics who came into Afghanistan and took over. Most of the terroists are from other countries. They are the invaders! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
