Subject: But What is it? |
Bible Note: Greetings Coop1! I've got to run in just a second, so I'll have to make this quick! I believe that every Christian is baptized into the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit. I believe that every Christian therefore has the Holy Spirit. But, I do believe, based primarily on Acts, that there is an empowering or consecrating experience subsequent to salvation. This could be called a baptism, filling, ect..... My only concern at this point would be that people are clear that all Christians have the Holy Spirit. I guess the question is, 'Does the Holy Spirit have all Christians?' There are a lot of different views on this issue. I think they have more in common than not. The things we can all agree on are: 1) All Christians are indwelt by the Holy Spirit. 2) The Holy Spirit empowers Christians for service. 3) Part of the empowerment comes from spiritual gifts. How we describe these points may differ somewhat from group to group, but the basics seem to be there in most! I've got to run! :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
