Subject: How do we open eyes to truth? |
Bible Note: Greetings Coop1! Who gave the United States the right to judge unrighteousness? According to Scripture, God did! Romans 13:1-5 says, "Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4 For he is God’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience." Notice in particular that verse 4 says that God has given the sword to rulers to punish wrongdoers. If are government starts to use that sword inappropriately, then God will judge us! p.s. - We are not attacking Afganastan because they do not have enough McDonalds. We are attacking them because they are actively hiding, supporting, and aiding the individuals who killed almost 4,000 innocent Americans. Is America perfect? Of course it isn't. But neither was Israel, and it was a Theocracy. I would still rather live here than anywhere else in the world! Are there people who do and support evil things in America? Yes! But, we have the freedom here to speak out against them. The Taliban would simply execute you if you disagreed with them! :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
