You state; "then using the Bible would perhaps produce little or no results." You make it sound as though under the circumstances you depict, the bible is useless, and that reasoning will take its place. I beg to differ! One dosen't beat someone over the head with the bible or try to shove it down their throat, yet the bible is THE essential tool. Please forgive me if I sound blunt, but your post reeks of “humanism.” Likewise, you contradict yourself from your first sentence. You start by stating; “Truly the Bible is God's Word.” Then you contradict this by stating “using the Bible would perhaps produce little or no results.” I don’t care what the circumstances are!!! SUCH A STATEMENT IS SPAWNED BY SOMETHING OTHER THAN THE HOLY SPIRIT!!! In your defense, I prefer to call it a simple lack of biblical knowledge. I could not force myself to read further than your first few sentences… That is all I needed to read. It is apparent from such a statement, and such a drawn out and wordy defense of your position, that you have little faith in the word of God, for such a statement shows either a lack of knowledge or a total lack of faith in the Gods word. Your note portrays an exceptionally bad case of what is referred to in 2Ti 3:7 I would strongly suggest dear brother, that before you make an attempt to convince others, you convince yourself. And that you realize that the “Living Water” commonly known as the Word, can not be replaced by yours or anyone else’s “reasoning… This is where today’s Church is falling far short of its calling… Perhaps you simply didn't think before you spoke, so I mean no discredit on you my brother but, have you ever read the passage pertaining to the removal of the mote in ones eye prior to their trying to remove the splinter from the eye of another, or perhaps what is said concerning the blind leading the blind? If someone does not accept the Bible as God's word, then tell how you would convince them there is a Creator? What foundation would you lay, so that they would begin to recognize that the Universe and us was a product of creation, rather than evolution? How would you reason with an evolutionist? Remember that you cannot use the Bible. What did the apostle Paul do when before the Areopagus, in Greece and spoke to the Athenians? How did he reason with them, for these did not know of the Christ? Also,Jesus said, three days before he was impaled, "And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come." (Matt 24:14) Then after his resurrection, he told his disciples,"Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you."( Matt 28:19,20) How would you teach people " to observe all the things I have commanded you.", for the "good news of the kingdom" has to be done worldwide and only approximately one third of it professes to be Christian? What about the rest, since many of these do not accept the Bible? Paul wrote that God's "will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth. "(1 Tim 2:4) Since "all sorts of men " are to be saved, how then would you reach them if they are an atheist, or an agnostic? | ||||||

Congrats my friend. This time you got me down to the word "impaled." My Jesus was NOT "impaled." You appear to be a learned person. Perhaps you missed the definition of this word in your learning. 1 : to join (coats of arms) on a heraldic shield divided vertically by a pale 2 a : to pierce with or as if with something pointed; especially : to torture or kill by fixing on a sharp stake b : to fix in an inescapable or helpless position. This is not how Christ died! Perhaps your learning is from others who have little or no faith in the "LIVING WORD OF GOD" I note that although you have a total of 20 posts on this forum, you have not taken the time to create a personal profile. Would you care to state your position as to where your belief or disbelief in God, His Son and His word is concern? In skimming your posts, I see the answer to my previous question. I see such a mindless confusion that there is no doubt that you are a JW. You probably won’t admit it, but I am sure dear brother that you have come to this forum because you are looking for truth. Deep down, you know that what you have been taught is incorrect. Or, at the very least, you have a doubt thereof. Open your mind and heart and He WILL come in. This forum will assist even the JW, if the person’s heart is open to truth, and allows assistance. If however you are a devout JW. You are probably here to spread your confusion. Keep in mind dear soul; Mat 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. And if you don’t believe in the Word as the living word of God, keep this in mind; if I am wrong and you are right, what will I have lost. However, if I am right about the Word being God breathed, and you are wrong, you will loose your eternal soul. That’s strong language. But it is FACT… I'm not that familiar with JW. I will NOT be misled. I am only human and I know that even I can get confused and weak. What I have heard from JW is "HOGWASH." Forgive me, but diplomacy is not my strong point. George |
