1 | "a thorn in the side"? or Not? | 1 John 2:2 | GeorJoy | 100646 | ||
I like the way you put it. And, would you not say that "our" mission which we have apparently accepted, or we would not be doing what we are at this very moment, is likewise to make known the consequences should one not accept the Lord and Savior? I'm sorry my dear brother, but I simply can not, (NOT tell) the WHOLE TRUTH and nothing but the TRUTH. It seems to me that everyone desires to preach on the rewards and no one, the wages. I simply can not understand!! I consider myself a "Conservative." There are Conservatives, and there are Liberals. It appears to me that everyone is either ULTRA Conservative or ULTRA Liberal. I am neither. I tend to be conservative, but am liberal on occasion. When it comes to the Word, I am neither conservative, nor liberal. What I am is factual, for I do not have the choice to pick and choose. If one can not preach and teach the "WHOLE WORD," then one would be wiser to keep the mouth shut... I am not coming down on anyone, for we each are endowed with our own gifts. Can the hand tell the foot what it should or should not do, and how to do it? No. It would seem that where we Christians today are concerned, a large majority of the time, the only members of the body that associate with one another are the foot and mouth. It is good to teach, but we who choose this path should take care, for we will be held to account more so than the layman. You, my brother quote the Lords words in the book of Matthew. You are correct. You denote the parable of the wheat and the tares. Would you not agree that the Church today is being choked out by the tares and their desire to appease them? I assert the following; “When I say to the wicked, O wicked man, you will surely die, and you do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. But if you do warn the wicked man to turn from his ways and he does not do so, he will die for his sin, but you will have saved yourself.” I am just another member of the body. Perhaps I am the foot. It tends to occasionally smell. It is only too often found in the mouth, but without it, where would the body be? In Christ George |

In carrying the gospel, it is imperative to remember that it is the good news, not the bad news that one is presenting. Of course this requires the necessity of presenting the fact that this is good news because they already are in a state of bad news. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. And the wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Isaiah 55:11 teaches : So shall My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. The gospel that is carried is God’s word and will accomplish what he desires. A foot soldier for Christ should take care of how he cares for his feet. EPH 6:15 and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; Jesus teaches in Matt 10:14, Mark 6:11, Luke 9:5, and Luke 10,11 that we should shake the dust our feet of those who reject. In other word keep your feet clean they are shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. In simple language don’t dirty up the gospel. Those that reject the Gospel reject God’s word, not my word or your word. In Acts 13 when Paul is at Pisidian Antioch, he clearly shares the Gospel, with a warning, But in the final verse he shake the dust from his feet, as Jesus taught, and moves on down the line. |
