1 | "a thorn in the side"? or Not? | 1 John 2:2 | GeorJoy | 101013
Read Ro:12:6 through 8. I wouldn't call it a label. Your tone, dear brother sounds argumentative. I simply stated a fact, not an accusation. George |

George, Not meant to be argumentative, just wanting to understand. I read Rom 12: 6-8. I'm still not sure what you mean by labeling as that kind of label is a badge of honor. Colin. |

3 | "a thorn in the side"? or Not? | 1 John 2:2 | GeorJoy | 101029
"Do not be excessively righteous and do not be overly wise. Why should you ruin yourself? Do not be excessively wicked and do not be a fool. Why should you die before your time? It is good that you grasp one thing and also not let go of the other; for the one who fears God comes forth with both of them." (Ecc 7:16-18) "Do not be excessively righteous and do not be overly wise. Why should you ruin yourself? Do not be excessively wicked and do not be a fool. Why should you die before your time? It is good that you grasp one thing and also not let go of the other; for the one who fears God comes forth with both of them." (Ecc 7:16-18)" ------------- ---------------- I was simply addressing your note. When one “rocks the boat” they are often labeled “self righteous” or what you called “excessively righteous.” When one trys to do as the word instructs and correct a brother, that ones shortcomings are frequently thrown back at him or her, thus causing a division in the church, and defeating the original purpose of the individual who “rocked the boat.” This is not to say that there are not those who are “self righteous.
