Hi Johnny, Yes, I do believe in speaking in tongues. While I have never been given it, I have heard and seen people who have. I too would like such a confirmation within my own spirit. I too have prayed for this gift. It really is a personal thing to edify one's self. I have also seen God's miraculous works in the healing of many people. I have watched as the blind was given sight and the lame walked. Glory to God! I myself have recieved many healings, through my grandmothers prayers and fasting. I was born with a larges hole in my esophagus(sp?), and the doctors said that I would not live long and that I would spend most of my time in and out of hospitals. Guess what! They were wrong! I was healed and my throat is fine! And I am now 37 and working on a nice ripe old age! Likewise my oldest son...who now serves in the Air Force, was once plagued with seizures. He had 100 a day. He was so bad off that I would have to tie him to a wheel chair so that he would not seize and fall out. He is now very strong, very intellegent, and very artisticly talented, with a bright future! Again I say...Glory to God! I do believe in the signs and wonders that follow the true believers. I am concerned that some of todays Christians deny that power, believing that miracles were preserved for ancient believers. Miracles are for us! Here and now! Our God is a great God and a powerful God! Nothing is too small or too big for Him to fix! I long for a community where...when one of our neighbors are ill or oppressed, we would go to them, and by the laying on of hands, through faithful prayer, by the Holy Spirit...see them healed. I know this how God meant it to be. God fulfilled a promise in me. He promised that if we raise our children in the Word, He will bring them back to Truth, should they stray. I thank God for His gentle reminders throughout my life. And I am set to run the race, no matter how bad things get during these times. I am ever thankful for the opportunity to share spiritual awakenings and truths with fellow believers like you. coop1 |

Me as I mentioned almost have that gift I am started to speak but I still heard the people inside the church. I am still praying for that gift. Christians today maybe not denying completely that gift, some of my baptist friends believed in speaking in tongue although they still not experiencing it. Meaning they are not really after for that gift. Unlike to a pentecostal group that speaking in tongue is very important gift. Other christians believed that it can happen to someone but not for everyone. And it is not a requirement for being a believers but if you recieved that gift you have to be very thankful. You mentioned about healing, I do believed that also, although I do believed that not everyone have that gift. Every one has his own gift: Co 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 1Co 12:8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 1Co 12:9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 1Co 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 10. 1Co 12:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. Today the given mission to us of our lord is not Just healing: Mt 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Mt 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. It was mentioned there are will say to the lord they done wonderful works in the name of Jesus Christ but they will accursed. But teaching is not including there, preaching, teaching, love and charity to everyone that is the mission that God want us to continue until His Kingdom will come. Nice talking to you, thanks for your wonderful testimony about His power. God bless, Johnny |
