1 | What is God's teachings on military war? | Deut 7:2 | Radioman | 24388
What is God's teachings on military war? Military war is the worst kind. I am living proof that war is hazardous to one's health. I'd much rather be involved in a non-military war. coop1: On this particular thread, I count 27 postings by you. Is it anywhere in your nature to wind it up and stop torturing us with post after post after post, all saying the same thing? You made your point and said all you have to say about 25 posts ago. Are you going to make a career of posting anti-war statements? In all honesty and fairness, I can understand your concern for your son's safety. What parent wouldn't understand this? If I had a son in the military, I wouldn't want to see him in danger either. But, for starters, that's what the Army is all about. The Army doesn't exist so one can be all that he can be. It doesn't exist as a social experiment or to provide educational opportunities. Anyone who joins the Army should know that the purpose of the Army is to break things and kill people. May I point out to you that it is the very country whose freedoms you don't think worth fighting for that gives you the liberty of saying or publishing your opinion? This and other freedoms, of which you think so little, were bought and paid for by blood -- the blood of American veterans. I am not arguing the rightness or the wrongness of your opinion. But a) please don't try to pass off your opinion as absolute truth; and b) it's getting a bit wearisome. |

4 | No more war, what's tongues? | Deut 7:2 | coop1 | 24461
Martha, If you were directing your question to me, Johnny was asking me if I believed in speaking in tongues. I told him yes I did, but that I have never been given it. Would like to have that confirmation within my spirit though. coop1 |

5 | But What is it? | Deut 7:2 | Martha | 24463
But what is it? I do not know what it is. When you say tongues I think of languages such as English, or Spanish or German. |

6 | But What is it? | Deut 7:2 | coop1 | 24470
One of the gifts,a heavenly language, known only to God and the person with the gift of interpretion, given for the edification of the individul believer or confirmation of the baptism of the Holy Spirit...where as, say prophecy, is given to edify the body of Christ. Seen mostly in Acts, and argued that in some instances of tongues, they were actually speaking in each other's language...which in itself is miraculous. Check out Acts 10:46, Acts1:6-11, 1 Corinthians 12:28, 1 Corinthians 14:1-19 |

"A heavenly language, known only to God"? Acts 2:6-8 (NKJV) ...everyone heard them speak in his own language. Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, "Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?" |

1 Corinthians 14:2 (KJV) For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God; for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. |

Don't count her postings anymore. She's not talking about war anymore. "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the law and the Prophets." Matthew 7:12 Do not do unto them what you don't want them to do unto you. |
