Bible Note: Hi Parable, Let's examine one of the mundane choices which people make. You are offered a choice between a piece of fruit or a piece of cake. On the one hand you desire to improve your health by losing a few pounds. On the other hand you desire the taste and texture of the cake. It is my contention that this simple example of a common occurence may be the key to understanding why we do, what we do. Inevitably, the desire which is the strongest is that which we obey. Even if we say "Forget both the fruit and the cake" because both desires are so strong, we are now obeying a stronger desire than the others; Our desire to be free from making the first choice! Rather than merely saying Yes or no, can you demonstrate, by way of an example, how your answer in the affirmative can be shown to be true? John |
