1 | Which proposition is scriptural? | John 3:16 | John Reformed | 89077
Hi Tim, Please. One man's assumption may be another's deduction. I have provided and am prepared to provide all the scriptural evidence required in defense of what you have termed a mere "assumption". God willing. Tim, you said "It's just wrong when we start presenting that our assumptions are Biblical and everyone else's are clearly not!" I don't believe I was as blatant as all that! The fact is, however, the answer to my question cannot be....BOTH. Brother John PS I am rather disappointed in your response. :-( |

2 | Which proposition is scriptural? | John 3:16 | Morant61 | 89091
Greetings John! Sorry, John, but I'm not going to get into another long debate. Whether you are disappointed or not, the fact remains that there is not one Scripture which says, "Regeneration precedes faith". I'm not saying that assumptions are necessarily bad. But, too often, we present our assumptions as fact - this is wrong! Frankly, I'm tired of debating what Scripture must mean. I want to see it stated in Scripture. ;-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

3 | Which proposition is scriptural? | John 3:16 | John Reformed | 89094
Your right Tim, There is not a single scripture that proves "regeneration prior to faith". Thank God He has given us His entire testimony that, like good workmen, we may rightly divide the Word of truth. Friend Tim, you use this line of reasoning quite a bit. Frankly, I fail to see that it has any merit whatsoever! John |

4 | Which proposition is scriptural? | John 3:16 | Morant61 | 89099
Greetings John! You wrote: "Friend Tim, you use this line of reasoning quite a bit. Frankly, I fail to see that it has any merit whatsoever!" Your joking? Right? There is no merit to the idea that Scripture ought to actually say what we say it says? Allow me to illustrate! If someone were to ask me, 'How can you say that all men are sinners? Can't some people live without sin if they really try hard?' I would respond: Rom. 3:23 - "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," This is an example of using what Scripture actually says. Now, you have made the claim that Scripture teaches that regeneration precedes faith. Where does Scripture say that? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

5 | Which proposition is scriptural? | John 3:16 | John Reformed | 89104
No Tim, I never even implied "There is no merit to the idea that Scripture ought to actually say what we say it says?" I was referring to your continual insistance that I provide you with a "single" verse. That's the dog that won't hunt. John |
